The most important thing
As briefly as possible, I will explain the most important aspects of the job of a bodyguard.
Although it is a basic topic, each chapter applies to any profession where safety is the main activity.
When you are attacked, mobility is the most important quality you must have.
In the simplest terms, mobility is the most important quality.
The movement must be purposeful, fast, explosive, and effective at the end.
You see, if you are a good shooter and you move poorly in such situations, then it is a much worse option than if you are a bad shooter but you are good at moving.
The movement that is practiced on shooting ranges as part of practical shooting is completely inapplicable in life-threatening situations. It helps, that's right, but if you get used to only this type of movement, then it's just bad for you. Anyone who has experienced scenes of attacks with weapons knows this very well.
On the other hand, the speed of thinking and the ability to anticipate an attack are much more important than any other skill in this job. If you don't spot an attacker before he targets you, no skill will help you.
In a job like this, training is the most important.
Of course, for something like that, you must have at least one experienced person in the team who has had such experience and knows the customs and habits of local criminals and the general public.
On the other hand, there is a big problem with people who are good with weapons. They are almost as a rule dedicated only to shooting the target and are not physically ready to respond to an attack without a weapon.
If you are attacked without a weapon, then you must not defend yourself with a weapon. In urban city environments, you must not even think of such a defense. The only defense is physical strength and skill.
And in those situations, it is much more important to anticipate and prevent an attack than to rely on the force you have. These topics should be dealt with in particular because they are of the greatest importance. This is exactly the thing you need to learn first to anticipate and prevent an attack. Everything else is much less important. Unfortunately, you hardly have the right attitude about these things in many security companies.
